Stickbows in the Redwoods Twice a year, Santa Cruz Archers hosts fund raiser shoots. Proceeds from these shoots fund the operation and maintenance of the DeLaveaga Archery range. The shoots are open to everyone and awards are given to division winners. On Saturday we hold "Stick Bows in the Redwoods" for archers with traditional equipment. The only styles allowed at the "stick bow" are traditional recurve, longbow, and primitive. No mechanical releases, stabilizers or sights are allowed. Immediately following the “stick bow,” on Sunday, we host “3D in the Redwoods,” which is open to all shooting styles. For both shoots, all yardages are "unmarked," we use our certified bowhunter range, and we have a B-B-Q lunch, drinks and snacks for purchase.
